Single lens sensor and reference for auto-alignment

Abstract: Auto-alignment is a basic technique for high-power laser systems. Special techniques have been developed for laser systems because of their differing structures. This paper describes a new sensor for auto-alignment in a laser system, which can also serve as a reference in certain applications. The authors prove that all of the beam transfer information (position and pointing) can theoretically be monitored and recorded by the sensor. Furthermore, auto-alignment with a single lens sensor is demonstrated on a si… Show more

“…(3) An alignment system has been designed and applied that takes advantage of the imaging characteristics of a multi-pass amplifier. The alignment system [56, 74, 75] in the SG-II UP nanosecond facility mainly contains the automatic alignment of the preamplifier, main amplifier, and harmonic conversion systems. According to the features and requirements of the facility, the alignment process was appropriately designed, and alignment sensor packages were developed.…”

“…Huang et al [10] report an optically addressed liquid crystal modulator for wavefront control of 1053 nm 2 J. Zhu laser beam, introducing working principle, control method and spatial phase modulation capability. In addition, Tang et al [11] present a new sensor for auto-alignment in a laser system based on ghost reflection. Ren et al [12] propose a cleaning technique and optimize the cleanliness in multisegment disk based on vector flow schemes, demonstrating more effective cleanliness levels with the vector flow scheme.…”
