Abstract: Hallmark for macrophages is their ability to possess plasticity which enables them to respond to changing microenvironment. Leishmania takes use of the phenotypic plasticity of macrophages to create favorable position for intracellular survival and persistent infection through regulatory cytokine like IL10.
