Single Camera Vehicle Localization Using Feature Scale Tracklets

Abstract: Advances in intelligent vehicle systems have led to modern automobiles being able to aid drivers with tasks such as lane following and automatic braking. Such automated driving tasks increasingly require reliable ego-localization. Although there is a large number of sensors that can be employed for this purpose, the use of a single camera still remains one of the most appealing, but also one of the most challenging. GPS localization in urban environments may not be reliable enough for automated driving systems… Show more

“…To ensure that their activities are safe, effective, and reliable, the wireless link plays a key role as it permits the exchange of information and control signals with the other mobility robots or network [2]. Since these robots need to obtain the accurate self-status to conduct various intelligent works without trouble such as collisions [3]- [5], it is important to study the relationship between the self-status and wireless link quality (LQ) to ensure highly reliable wireless access.…”

“…David Wong et al proposed a method for vehicle positioning using images captured from a single on-board camera. The system performance is analyzed by using a data set with high accuracy ground truth (Wong et al, 2017). Chensheng Wu et al (2018) proposed a novel approach that used the scintillation traits recorded on a video clip to perform object ranging with reasonable accuracy from a single camera viewpoint.…”
