Simultaneous Synthesis and Consolidation of Nanostructured MoSi2-NbSi2 Composite by High-Frequency Induction Heated Sintering and Its Mechanical Properties

Abstract: The current concern about these materials (MoSi 2 and NbSi 2 ) focuses on their low fracture toughness below the ductile-brittle transition temperature. “…Unique conditions are the great attractive interest for researchers due to the control of the microstructure during the synthesis of materials by mechanical milling, whose purpose is to obtain desired physical and mechanical properties such as low density, uniform microporosity, good hardness and fracture toughness, and high Young's modulus, among other properties [6,9,[20][21][22][23][24].
