Simultaneous Spectrophotometric Determination of Sunset Yellow and Quinoline Yellow in a Single Step

Abstract: In this work a new modified standard addition method for simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of Sunset yellow (SY) and Quinoline yellow (QY) is used. The generalized Net Analyte Signal Standard Addition Method (GNASSAM) was introduced for simultaneous standard addition of analytes. By applying this method the concentrations of analytes are determined in a single step. The applicability of new method was used for the simultaneous determination of strongly overlapped spectra of SY and QY in a real samp… Show more

“…No significant change in the life time of BSA NiNCs was observed during the lifetime measurement on adding 5.00×10 <‐M‐>7 M HVA to it (Figure 7b). In this work, the obtained ratio of the life time of fluorescent probe in the absence (τ 0 ) and presence of quencher (τ) was one (τ 0 /τ=1) which supports the possibility for a static quenching mechanism and also ruled out a chance for the occurrence of FRET [21] . The absence of an overlap in the emission spectra of fluorophore with absorption spectra of HVA in Figure 7d further confirms the absence of a FRET and inner filter effect [22] .…”

“…Consequently, a simple, rapid, and highly sensitive method for SY detection is critical to monitor SY levels. Many techniques have been utilized for the determination of SY, such as high performance liquid chromatography [3,4,5], UV-visible, fluorescence, and Raman spectrometry [6,7,8,9], and electrochemical techniques [10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17]. Recently, due to the low cost, operational simplicity, high sensitivity, and fast response, electrochemical techniques have gained attention and have exhibited promising applications in SY analysis.…”
