Simultaneous presence of mono- and bi-cationic bipyridyls within a metal-organic supramolecular host: crystal structure, spectral and Hirshfeld surface analysis
“…The [M III (CN) 6 ] 3− (M = transition metal) anion has garnered significant interest in functional D–A materials due to its dual role as a hydrogen bond acceptor and a donor of multiple electron pairs. 16–18 Built on earlier findings, integrating [M III (CN) 6 ] 3− into a D–A system has been shown to expand and finely tune the material's properties. 19–21 These anionic metal complexes have also been utilized in creating bimetallic compounds, incorporating lanthanide (Ln) elements as the secondary metal component.…”
A photochromic material based on viologen was synthesized. During the photo-induced color transition, the DC magnetic susceptibility was enhanced by 48%, and an increase in the magnetic relaxation time after illumination was observed.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
