Simultaneous electrochemical determination of dopamine, uric acid and ascorbic acid using silver nanoparticles deposited on polypyrrole nanofibers

Abstract: Silver nanoparticles modified polypyrrole (PPy) nanofibers were fabricated and used for the simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) with good selectivity and high sensitivity. Polypyrrole nanofibers were prepared through electrodeposition, while silver nanoparticles were deposited on PPy nanofiber by electrodeposition and electrochemical oxidation in situ. The morphology and structure of silver nanoparticles/polypyrrole nanocomposite (Ag/PPy) were characterized by sca… Show more

“…The broad band around 1210 cm −1 was caused by the C–N stretching and = C–H in-plane deformation vibrations of the aromatic ring, while the two absorption peaks that appeared at 850 cm −1 and 620 cm −1 were due to C–H out-of-plane bending [ 25 , 26 ]. However, the FTIR spectrum of CoNPs/PPy shows the characteristics peaks of PPy, with a shift of peak positions toward lower wave number (1400 cm −1 to 1390 cm −1 and 1200 cm −1 to 1108 cm −1 ), indicating the dispersion of the electron density of PPy as a function of the incorporation of the nanoparticles [ 27 ].

“…The crystalline nature of Ag NPs has been determined by XRD analysis. Figure 6 [15] It is interesting to note that any peaks which may correspond to impurities are not detected in the entire spectrum. It also supports the observations from the EDAX analysis; reflecting the high purity of Ag NPs.…”

“…form a nanocomposite of silver nanoparticles with electropolymerized pyrrole film to heighten the electrocatalytic activity of GCE. The resulting sensor showed the desirable characteristics (i. e. greater selectivity, superior electrical conductivity) . A highly stable layer of poly 3‐Amino‐5‐mercapto‐1,2,4‐triazole (p‐TA) have many coordination sites like exocyclic −SH group, one exocyclic −NH 2 group and three N cyclic atoms.…”
