Simultaneous determination of 23 ester compounds in cigarette water-borne adhesives by liquid-liquid extraction and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry

Abstract: A method of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) with liquid-liquid extraction has been developed for the simultaneous determination of 23 ester compounds including acetate esters, acrylic esters, metacrylic acid esters and phthalate acid esters in cigarette water-borne adhesives. After dispersed in water, the sample was extracted by n-hexane solution containing phenyl ethyl propionate as internal standard substance. Then, the solution was centrifuged and filtrated through a 0.45 microm organic membran… Show more

“…The catalytic materials have an important effect on CTL performance . Esters, alkenes, alcohols, aldehydes, ethers, and ketones are abundant in scented products. , They were used as reagents to trigger the CTL reaction on the surface of MgO/HKUST-1. As shown in Figure S5, the MgO/HKUST-1 demonstrates a high selectivity toward esters.…”

“…To date, literature reports of acrylates have been mainly focused on the detection of residual acrylate monomers in plastics or in the air, and the detection methods mainly included gas chromatography (GC), liquid chromatography (LC), and gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC/ MS). [7][8][9] A few reports mentioned the detection of acrylate compounds in food contact paper products. For example, Sun et al established the detection of migration amounts of ve acrylates in plastic food-contacting materials by solid-phase microextraction and GC/MS.…”
