Simulink model of transformer differential protection using phase angle difference based algorithm

Abstract: <p class="p1">An application of phase-angle-difference based algorithm with percentage differential relays is presented in this paper. In the situation where the transformer differential relay is under magnetizing inrush current, the algorithm will be utilized to block the process. In this study, the technique is modeled and implemented using Simulink integrated with MATLAB. The real circuit model of power transformer and current transformers are considered in the simulation model. The results co… Show more

“…The working operation of the project at all levels is comprehensively explained. The proper functioning of each subunit that comprises the system is required to meet the stated requirements because a fault in one unit can affect the functionality of the entire system [42]. This condition is achieved by conducting circuit simulation, hardware implementation, and software implementation.…”

“…Even so, the real losses are required to determine the actual wind level, for example, the losses should be measure based on data. Iqteit and Yahya [6] described an automated transformer loss calculation, which requires a comprehensive measurement operation. Fuchs et al [7] also constructed an enhanced real time tracking system for transformer damages, differentiating among iron core and copper losses.…”
