Simulation of the dynamic characteristics for a hard disk drive during load/unload process subject to an external shock

Abstract: The dynamics of the head/disk interface and the lift-tab ramp interface of hard disk drive subject to an external shock during load/unload process were modeled and simulated. The effects of the shock duration and amplitude of shock impulse on the dynamic and contact characteristics of related interfaces were analyzed.
