Abstract:A numerical procedure for solving the unsteady, two-dimensional, compressible Navier-Stokes equations has been extended for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flows by the inclusion of the appropriate Lorentz force and Joule heating terms in the governing equations. With appropriate initial and boundary conditions, the procedure can be used for the investigation of transient phenomena as well as the asymptotic steady-state characteristics of internal MHD flows. Results obtained for the simulation of starting processes … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
