Simulation of precipitate ensemble evolution in steels with V and Nb

Abstract: A model for describing the evolution of ensembles of carbonitride precipitates of several compo sitions in steel at the stages of growth, dissolution, and coagulation is developed in the scope of the mean field approximation. Calculations of the growth and dissolution kinetics of carbonitrides in the Fe-Nb-V-C-N systems are performed based on the numerical implementations.

“…Other estimations would give even larger values of L. Thus, D HPT = 10 -18 m/s -2 . The extrapolation of D for Cu self diffusion and In bulk diffusion in Cu to 300 K (temperature of HPT treatment) gives D = 10 -35 m 2 /s [102] and D = 10 -39 m/s -2 [105], respectively. Similar extrapolation of In GB diffusion coefficient gives D GB = 10 -28 m/s -2 [106].…”

“…Mathematical models for calculating the rolling parameters, including constructional and skelp (pipe) steel grades, according to the principle of construction and implementation, can be divided into three groups. The first group includes theoretical (engineering) models based on analytical solutions and phenomenological approaches [29]. In spite of their compactness and ease of use (in most cases), they are characterized by low accuracy due to made assumptions and simplifications, which does not allow to recommended them for forecasting the physical and mechanical properties of heavy plates.…”
