Abstract:We demonstrate the use of an Auto Regressive Moving Average (ARMA) optical lattice filter in compensating polarization mode dispersion (PMD) by minimizing the differential group delay (DGD) within a given frequency range. A numerical simulation was performed for a 4th order ARMA filter to compare the DGD values before and after filtering. Also, a quasi-analytical simulation was performed to estimate the signal to noise (SNR) reduction after filtering.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
