A novel adaptive array receiver algorithm in the WCDMA uplink, which the LSCMA can be smoothly switched to the LS-DRMTA is presented. Firstly, we propose a convex combination approach by running the LSCMA and LS-DRMTA algorithms simultaneously to obtain a smooth switch between them, which is guaranteed by the basic theory of convex combination method. Then an "anchoring process" is described to implement fast user tracking by exploiting the in-buid pilot signal. The overall receiver can be regarded as the LS-DRMTA algorithm being anchored by the combination adaptive algorithm. Analysis demonstrates that our proposed algorithm has the good convergence properties and low computational complexity, which is also verified by the numerical simulations.

In this paper, an adaptive digital filter algorithm is presented to optimize the signal-to-noise ratio of an antenna array with multiuser signal inputs. These synchronous communication signals have constant envelope property and are transmitted through a Multiple-Input/Multiple-Output (MIMO) linear channel. This Multiuser Constant Modulus Algorithm (MU-CMA) using an antenna array can compensate for both Interuser Interference (IUI) and Intersymbol Interference (ISI). The method is derived by minimizing the cost function of the constant modulus signals as well as cross-correlations between them. The simulation result in this paper shows the performance of this algorithm.

Abstract. Adaptive algorithms which provide desired performance and have small computational load are key factors that enable the integration of smart antennas into 3G wireless communication systems. W e evaluate non-blind (LMS, RLS), blind (CM), and serni-blind (CFA) type receive beamforrning algorithms in terms of their performance, complexity, and convergence rate for cdma2000 systems. Simulations are performed for a 5-element uniform linear array operating in a wireless vector channel that consists of multipaths and multiple access interference. Results show that CF A has the highest SINR with rninimum deviation in varying fading conditions. CM has the smallest SINR performance possibly due to not involving pilot information, but it has the computation Ioad as low as LMS does, i.e. O(M) where M is the antenna number. RLS achieves SINR comparable to CFA with the fastest convergence rate.
