The development of urban agglomerations leads to the concentration of industrial zones near and within cities. Technologically obsolete production capacities of existing enterprises are being replaced by modern, more efficient processes. In some cases, existing industrial zones in cities are not adapted to modernization and the expediency of their existence is significantly reduced. This can lead to the appearance of non-functioning and potentially dangerous industrial zones near cities and within their borders. This chapter discusses a conceptual approach to the redevelopment of real estate in urban industrial zones from the technical side for the safe and efficient operation of such facilities in the future.
