Simulation and Hardware Implementation of DSP Based Shunt Active Power Filter

Abstract: This paper presents the simulation and real time hardware implementation of Shunt Active Power filter in Analog Devices DSP (ADMC401) environment. The synchronous detection method is applied to calculate compensating currents while the three phase source is feeding a highly non-linear load. Synchronous Detection algorithm is capable of working under both balanced and unbalanced source voltages. The equal current distribution method of synchronous detection theory is used here to calculate the three phase compe… Show more

“…The control circuitry uses two distinct sinusoidal subtraction methods namely Synchronous Detection Method and I Cos Φ Method for reference compensating current extraction. The ability of above mentioned methods to achieve improvement in both source voltages and source currents unlike other SAF control methods is already proved [6], [7]. Multicarrier Phase Disposition PWM technique is used for current control of inverter.…”
