“…The output of the PI controller represents the magnitude of the real power current, which is normally proportional to the inverter loss. To generate real power current reference signal, the real power current magnitude is multiplied with normalized grid voltages to form the real power current reference signals [13].…”

“…In order to achieve good filtering performance, the compensating current reference generation of the active power filter must be accurate. The control system of the active power filter [9], [13] is answerable for real time instantaneous compensating current reference. The most important task of the control system is to produce the compensating phase currents opposite to the harmonics in the load phase currents, and the compensating neutral current opposite to the load neutral current and also used for removing the load phase imbalance as well as for compensating the reactive power drawn by the load, in which case the active power filter injects the compensating current for the fundamental negative sequence load current component and produces the reactive power required by the load.…”

“…The proposed scheme employed current controlled voltage source active power filter which has been found realistic and excellent to the compensation characteristics of current unbalance and neutral current in three phase four wire system. This paper presents the technique with the load current detection method as a suitable method controlling directly the output current of active power filter hence called direct current control (DCC) and requires a simple design for control stability [8], [9]. The control of switching frequency is described with introducing hysteresis band current control algorithm [10], [11], [12] to force the current of the filter to track their reference value.…”

“…The predictive current control is the suitable technique for a digital control [21]. The equivalent circuit in Figure 10 is used to derive the relationship equation between the SAPF output voltages (u ( ) ) and the voltages at PCC point (u PCC( ) ) as given in (12). The compensating currents or active filter currents are represented by i ( ) .…”

“…There are two types of SAPF topology such as the voltage source inverter (VSI) [12,13] and the current source inverter (CSI) [13,14] with six IGBTs. The VSI topology is used in the paper because this topology is simple and provides the good performance for harmonic elimination.…”
