Simulation and Control Strategies for Longitudinal Propagation of Acid Fracture in a Low-Permeability Reservoir Containing Bottom Water

Song Li,
Yu Fan,
Yujie Guo
et al.

Abstract: The reservoir in the Anyue gas field, located in the Sichuan basin of China, belongs to the second member of the Dengying formation and has distinctive geological features. It is characterized by strong heterogeneity, low porosity, low permeability, and locally developed natural fractures. The reservoir space consists primarily of corrosion holes, natural fractures, and similar voids. Moreover, the lower reservoir exhibits high water saturation and a homogeneous bottom-water interface. Since it is a carbonate-… Show more

“…This is primarily due to the nature of these reservoirs, which possess extremely low flow rates and require intricate stimulation techniques to enhance their productivity. These reservoirs often contain multiple fractures, each with unique properties and characteristics 17 . Therefore, relying solely on a single primary fracture may not be sufficient to fully unlock the reservoir’s potential.…”
