Simulated training model in a low cost for laparoscopic inguinal hernioplasty

Abstract: Purpose: Develop a 3D model for the simulation of laparoscopic inguinal hernioplasty transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP). Methods: This is an experimental study, 18 participants were selected, divided into three groups, experimental (GE) surgeons in training, control (GC) experienced surgeons and Shaw (GS) nonexperienced surgeons. The simulation in the 3D model was carried out in 6 sessions fulfilling the 5 stages. Opening the peritoneum with the creation of the preperitoneal space; identification of important… Show more

“…Despite excluding the guidelines from the final database in our study, the term still appeared as a keyword; this may respond to the fact that some of the articles in the database had the objective of evaluating surgeons” compliance with clinical practice guidelines ( 35 , 36 ). Recent articles have also focused on “simulation”, which is a training tool for surgeons, with studies such as “Simulated training model in a low cost for laparoscopic inguinal hernioplasty” ( 37 ) demonstrating improved surgical skills through simulation-based training.…”
