“…Ash bed from the middle Dengying Formation is dated at 546.3 ± 2.7 Ma (Fig. 5), similar with dates from Namibia and Oman sections, providing geochronological constraint on the Ediacaran fossils (Yang et al, 2017).…”

“…In this study, the ash bed from the lower Liuchapo Formation in the Longbizui section is dated at 545.76 ± 0.20/0.31/0.66 Ma, providing the first robust radiometric age for the late Ediacaran successions in deep-water settings in South China. Within errors this new date is identical to the date for the middle Jiucheng Member of Dengying Formation (Yang et al, 2017), indicating that the lower part of Liuchapo Formation in the deep water facies can be correlated to the lower Dengying Formation in the shallow water facies (Fig. 5).…”

“…Litho‐chemo‐biostratigraphic data are from Zhu et al (2001) and D. Li et al (2013). Radioisotopic dates are from Compston et al (2008) and Yang et al (2017, 2018). Abbreviations: NCC = North China Craton; SGB = Songpan‐Ganzi Block; ICB = Indochina Block; EYP = Eastern part of the Yunan Province; DLT = Donglongtan; JC = Jiucheng; EPIP = Late Ediacaran positive carbon isotope plateau; BACE = Basal Cambrian negative carbon isotope excursion; ZHUCE = Zhujiaqing Carbon Isotope Excursion; A.‐P.…”

“…Ma (Yang et al, 2017a). In western Hunan Province, an ash bed from the lower Liuchapo Formation, which is roughly equivalent to the Dengying Formation, gives a zircon U-Pb age of 545.76 ± 0.66 Ma (Yang et al, 2017b).…”
