Simplified predictive torque control for permanent magnet synchronous motor with discrete duty cycle control

Abstract: Here, a simplified predictive torque control strategy based on discrete duty cycle technology is proposed for the voltage source inverter permanent magnet synchronous motor drive system. Combining the discrete duty cycle technology, the candidate vectors are synthesised by two adjacent active vectors and zero vectors, and meanwhile, the duty cycles of the two adjacent active vectors and zero vectors are generated directly. Afterwards, an extended control set is constructed to improve the control accuracy of to… Show more

“…In [13], the number of candidate voltage vectors is reduced by introducing a direct torque control (DTC) switching table in the induction motor drive system; In [14], the complex weighting factor selection process in the cost function is simplified by using the TOPSIS algorithm. In [15], a cost function with the consideration of the voltage vector error is constructed based on duty cycle calculation for PTC, and the candidate voltage vectors and duty cycles are determined according to the geometric position of the reference voltage vector in the inverse triangular matrix. On this basis, the processes of the prediction and duty cycle calculation are combined into one, which effectively reduces the complexity of PTC algorithm.…”

“…As shown in Fig. 4, based on the motor selections and the corresponding control schemes of the exoskeleton components, suitable driving currents can be supplied to the respective electromechanical parts for providing the assistive torques to elders' daily movements [12][13][14]. Furthermore, as indicated in [15], flexible series/parallel compositions of stator winding coils can also be achieved through proper switching actions on the driver circuits.…”

“…[1][2][3]. As a typical kind of the multilevel inverters, the cascaded H-bridge (CHB) inverter is widely used in medium-and high-voltage AC motor speed regulation because of its unique advantages, including modular structure, easy to expand voltage levels, no need to balance capacitor voltage, and so on [4][5][6].…”
