Simple equation for calculation of plasma clearance for evaluation of renal function without urine collection in rats

Abstract: To develop an equation for the evaluation of renal function in rats using three dilutions of plasma samples and to validate this method by comparison with a reference method. The investigation was conducted in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats after delivery of three doses of iohexol, with blood samples collected before and after dosage using a quantitative blood collection method.
