“…With the ongoing research of global scientists, it is expected that coal-based activated carbon composite anode materials for Li-ion batteries are being used in a variety of fields, including individual movable tools or hybrid vehicles. A huge number of excellent studies focusing on the benefits of porous coal-based porous graphitic carbon materials/composite materials in Li-ion batteries for energy storage devices have nicely documented the implementation progress in research and development. However, there is limited research in coal-based carbon materials for such technologies despite having a good supply chain of coal materials. Table summarizes the Li-ion batteries’ performances of different coal-derived anode materials, and it was observed that there is a serious need to explore abundant coal resources for producing good quality carbon materials to use in Li-ion batteries.…”
