For the determination of the mineral content of infant formula by ICP-OES, 45 ultrasoundassisted extraction was selected as the most suitable, as it was simple, fast and low-cost in comparison with the other procedures (microwave-assisted digestion and dry ashing). Sample (2 g) was extracted with 2 mL HNO 3 and 1 mL H 2 O 2 in a capped 50 mL tube in an ultrasonic bath for 30 min at 60 C.
