“…As Levine, Carter and Gorman have impressively reconstructed, Simmel (1976a, 1976b) has left his mark on American sociology at various points. Interest in Simmel’s writings in the United States began surprisingly early, which also has to do with the fact that he was translated before many other European authors (Frisby, 1991; Jaworski, 1995).
