Abstract:Tazobactam (TazoH) is a penicillinate sulfone β-lactamase inhibitor with negligible antimicrobial activity, commonly used with other antibiotics to provide an effective combination against many susceptible organisms expressing β-lactamases. Two novel Ag(I)-tazobactam frameworks ([Ag(I)-Tazo] and [Ag(I)-Tazo2]) prepared by mechanochemistry are presented herein as alternative forms to improve the antimicrobial activity of tazobactam by exploring synergistic effects with silver, being the first crystal structures… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
