Abstract: Methylpolysiloxane verdanken ihre herausragende Bedeutung auf dem Gebiet der Entschäumer zwei Grundprinzipien: geringe zwischenmolekulare Wechselwirkung (niedrige Oberflächenspannung) und die einzigartige Variabilität des Polymerensystems, das es gestattet, sich den Anwendungsproblemen durch Veränderung von Molekulargewicht, Molekulargewichtsverteilung sowie der Art und Anzahl der Endgruppen leicht anzupassen.
