Silicon Carbide Supported Palladium‐Iridium Bimetallic Catalysts for Efficient Selective Hydrogenation of Cinnamaldehyde

Abstract: Summary of main observation and conclusion Selective hydrogenation of α,β‐unsaturated carbonyls into saturated carbonyls is important to obtain remunerative products. However, it is still a challenge to achieve high activity and selectivity under mild conditions. [ 1‐2 ] Modifying metal crystals with additives, [ 3‐4 ] modulating palladium nanoparticles with light element atoms, [ 1,5‐7 ] generating alloy nanocatalysts with other metals, [ 8‐11 ] decorating support materials [ 12‐14 ] and other methods can effectively adjust the characteristics of palladium based catalysts and improve the catalytic selectivity. Among those, alloy catalyst has advantage of avoiding the use of toxic elements ( e.g ., Pb), and the combination with non‐noble metal reduces the preparation cost of active catalyst.…”
