Silencing of cZNF292 circular RNA suppresses human glioma tube formation via the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway

Abstract: CircRNA is a novel type of RNA molecule formed by a covalently closed loop which have no 5′-3′ polarity and possess no polyA tail and relatively stable due to the cyclic structure. Therefore, they may serve as potential targets and diagnosis biomarkers for tumor therapy. cZNF292 is an important circular oncogenic RNA and plays a critical role in the progression of tube formation. This study is aimed at exploring the role of cZNF292 in human glioma tube formation and its potential mechanism of action. We found … Show more

“…Yang et al revealed that silencing of cZNF292 circular RNA can suppress human glioma tube formation via the Wnt/beta-catenin signalling pathway [14]. Similarly, cir-ITCH inhibits the proliferation of ESCC by sponging miR-7, miR-17 and miR-214.…”

“…For example, novel circular oncogenic RNA cZNF292 promotes human glioma tube formation by inducing glioma cell proliferation and cell cycle progression. This process is closely related with Wnt/β‐catenin signaling (P. Yang, Qui, et al, ). Contrarily, circRNA‐ITCH is a tumor‐suppressor role in glioma progression through sponging miR‐214 and modulating Wnt/β‐catenin pathway (F. Li, Ma, et al, ).…”

“…Therefore, finding novel molecules participated in tumour progression is vital to improve the survival rate of GBM. Circular RNA (circRNA) is an innovative race of RNA and is widely discovered in eukaryotes [7]. Accumulating evidence suggested that various circRNAs had cell-type specific expressions and were involved in a good deal of cancers [8].…”
