Among available semiconductors, chalcogenide compounds (CdS, CdZnS, and ZnIn 2 S 4 ) have been reported to demonstrate wide abilities for organic transformations, H 2 production, sterilization, and pollution degradation. However, the photocatalytic performance of a single chalcogenide compound is unsatisfactory due to insufficient light absorption, low charge separation, and sluggish surface reaction kinetics .
