Abstract:Background: Fibrotic scarring is an important prognostic factor for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Lysyl oxidase-like 2 (LOXL2), an amine oxidase, is thought to make an integral contribution to fibrotic scarring by facilitating collagen cross-linking.
