Abstract:Abstract-Optimal signaling is studied over a power-limited Gaussian channel with intermittent feedback, where a random mechanism-whose outcome is unknown to the receiverdetermines whether or not the output symbol is fed back to the encoder. If the output symbols are fed back with probability smaller than one half, then even the two-messages error probability cannot decay faster than exponentially in the blocklength. But if this probability is greater than one half, then, even for some positive rates, a doubly … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
