“…This difference was not observed in triple therapy groups. This was in accordance with the results obtained by Moayyedi et al 83 and Sieg et al 84 and perhaps the dosage of PPI was not a major factor in H. pylori eradication when combined with two potent antimicrobials such as clarithromycin, amoxycillin or metronidazole. Proton pump inhibitor administration for 4 weeks or more did not affect the H. pylori eradication rate.…”

“…Eighteen studies were initially evaluated for meta‐analyses 12–14 , . 17–31 Two were subdivided into two parts because they analysed four branches of treatment with different durations of eradication therapy.…”

“…Most authors currently recommend a 1‐week, twice‐daily course of a proton pump inhibitor (standard dose) and two antibiotics as first‐line therapy for H. pylori infection 3 , . 4 , 10 , 11 Although the proton pump inhibitor is usually administered twice daily, some reports have suggested that schedules using once‐daily, half‐dose proton pump inhibitor are equally effective, 12 , 13 and help to contain costs 14 . There is, however, some concern about whether the reduced proton pump inhibitor dose, and the reduction in acid inhibition that this generates, will lead to a decrease in the eradication rate.…”

“…and high-dose regimens are employed in China (10). Some studies have indicated that increasing the PPI dose in triple therapy containing omeprazole or lansoprazole can improve the eradication efficacy (1416), whereas another study reported similar efficacies between low-dose and high-dose rabeprazole in triple-drug therapy (17). Thus, the appropriate dose of rabeprazole for eradication therapy remains controversial.…”
