Short-term results of rotator cuff repair using GraftJacket as an interpositional tissue-matched thickness graft

Abstract: We report outcomes of using GraftJacket to repair massive rotator-cuff-tears. Twenty patients with a mean age of 64.6y over 12-month duration were reviewed. Two patients had a single GraftJacket repair (group1), whilst 18 had the GraftJacket sheet doubled (group2). Pre and post oxford shoulder scores (OSS) and patient related outcome measures were evaluated. A statistically significant improvement of OSS was demonstrated in-group 2 from a mean of 22 to 45.5 (p < 0.00148) over a follow up of 18 months. GraftJac… Show more

“…Sharma et al utilized GraftJacket to bridge the gap in massive cuff tear repairs in 20 patients. 33 At a follow-up of 18 months to 24 months, the OSS improved from 22.0 to 45.5 (P = 0.00148). The authors did not evaluate the integrity of repair radiologically.…”

“…Venouziou et al 23 and Sharma et al 24 have shown significant improvements in outcomes following open reconstructions. Kokkalis et al 25 also treated 21 patients with a similar technique showing an improvement in the ASES score from 25.2 to 74.2 and a reduction in pain VAS score from 7.6 to 1.8.…”
