Short‐Term Outcomes of Patent Ductus Arteriosus Closure With New Occlutech® Duct Occluder: A Multicenter Study

Abstract: Our results indicate that transcatheter closure of PDA using the ODO is effective. Larger studies and longer follow-up are required to assess whether its shape and longer length make it superior to other duct occluders in large, tubular, or window-type ducts. “…As was previously noted, it is important to be careful not to dislocate the device at the time of liberalisation, because the delivery cable may create problems during this process. 4 The vise that is attached to the distal end of the cable would not grip the cable despite maximal tightening of its screw. When the vise was rotated to turn the cable, torque would not pass down the cable to release the device.…”

“…[10111213151622] Our experience also compares with the experience in other units that have used the Occlutech ® Duct Occluder for PDA closure. [17181920] This device is able to close small, moderately sized, and large ducts in appropriately selected patients. [17181920] In our case series, the majority of the small ducts were closed with the smallest devices.…”
