Short-Term Load Dispatching Method for a Diversion Hydropower Plant with Multiple Turbines in One Tunnel Using a Two-Stage Model

Abstract: Short-term load dispatching (STLD) for a hydropower plant with multiple turbines in one tunnel (HPMTT) refers to determining when to startup or shutdown the units of different tunnels and scheduling the online units of each tunnel to obtain optimal load dispatch while simultaneously meeting the hydraulic and electric system constraints. Modeling and solving the STLD for a HPMTT is extremely difficult due to mutual interference between units and complications of the hydraulic head calculation. Considering the c… Show more

“…The basic task of the optimal operation of the hydropower station is to rationally arrange the load distribution of the units [18,19]. These units are put into operation on the basis of the known power generation flow or output of the hydropower station to achieve the highest power generation efficiency of the whole plant and increase the economic benefits of the hydropower station.…”

“…The contribution of this article is that an accurate real-time equivalent circuit model of HPP with error compensation is proposed to resolve the conflict between real-time online simulation and accuracy under various operating conditions. In the future, this can help build a system for the automatic distribution of operating units, taking into account the model implemented by the station [23,24]. Article [25] is devoted to modeling the turbine of pumped-storage plants operating in a wide range of power.…”
