Short-term LDL cholesterol-lowering efficacy of plant stanol esters

Abstract: BackgroundThe short-term cholesterol-lowering efficacy of plant stanol esters has been open to debate, and the data from different clinical studies with hypercholesterolemic subjects are variable, partly due to lack of systematic studies.
