Short Linear Motifs (SLiMs) in “Core” RxLR Effectors of Phytophthora parasitica var. nicotianae : a Case of PpRxLR1 Effector

Abstract: The continuous gain and loss of RxLR effectors makes the control of Phytophthora spp. difficult. Therefore, in this study, we endeavored to identify RxLR effectors that are highly conserved among species, also known as “core” RxLR effectors (CREs).

“…Rhizosphere microbial communities are extremely complex in terms of composition, the roles played by the multiple protagonists, and the types of interactions that take place [1][2][3] . In addition to direct interactions with their plant host (host-microbe), microorganisms interact with each other (microbe-microbe) through negative (antagonism), positive (cooperation), and neutral (commensalism) intra-and inter-kingdom interactions 2,4 .…”
