Shigellosis Cases With Bacterial Sexually Transmitted Infections: Population-Based Data From 6 US Jurisdictions, 2007 to 2016

Abstract: From 2007 to 2016, 20% of male shigellosis case-patients from 6 US jurisdictions had at least 1 bacterial sexually transmitted infection (chlamydia, gonorrhea, or syphilis) reported 12 months before or after the shigellosis case report; 4% of female shigellosis cases had a sexually transmitted infection.
