Shell model calculations ofB(E2)values, static quadrupole moments, andgfactors for a number ofN=Znuclei

Abstract: In this work we look at the low lying nuclear structure of several N = Z nuclei residing between the doubly magic nuclei 40 Ca and 100 Sn. Using large shell model codes, we calculate and discuss the systematics of energies. We show energy levels, B(E2)'s, static quadrupole moments and g factors. In all cases, we compare the results of two different interactions which yield significantly different occupation numbers. We compare with the simplest versions of the rotational and vibrational models. By examining B(… Show more

“…During the last decades, the nuclei in A~50 mass region were investigated as reported in Refs. [3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. The shape phase transition was studied for the light nuclei with number of proton Z=20-28 including also Ti isotopes [3].…”

“…Another SM calculations were performed by using the same interactions for N=Z isotopes [7]. SM was used for the systematic calculations of first 2 + levels and B(E2) transitions of the pf-shell nuclei including also even-even Ti isotopes [8]. Excitation energies of J π =2 + states, two-neutron separation energies (S2n), and B(E2) values along the isotopic chains of the fp shell nuclei were analyzed within the SM [9].…”

“…There are quite many recent publications following the same direction or re-interpret the results in slight different ways (see, Refs. [70,71,72,73,74,75] and references contained therein). A detailed investigation on the applications of the nucleon-pair approximation of the shell model on this subject is presented in Ref.…”

“…It may be interesting to mention that a similar picture with rotational-like B(E2) transitions and vibrationallike spectrum is also predicted for N = Z nuclei like 92 Pd [55] in relation to the quest for the possible existence of np pairing in N ∼ Z nuclei for which there is still no conclusive evidence after long and extensive studies (see, recent discussions in Refs. [55][56][57][58][59][60][61][62]). Moreover, the α formation amplitude may increase as a result of of the strong neutron-proton correlation.…”
