“…the interaction of Kuo and Brown (1966), or need some ad-hoc tuning of model parameters, e.g. the interaction of Hauge and Maripuu (1973). However the comparison of results from empirical interactions and realistic interactions is helpful in understanding and evaluating the model uncertainties.…”

“…The experimental value of B(Ml;3/2--+1/2-) is 0·61 ±0·05 Jl~ (Ajzenberg-Selove 1975). The shell model calculations of Kurath (1957) predict values of B(Ml; 3/2--+ I/T) in the range from 0·6 to 2·0 Jl~, depending on the value of the spin-orbit coupling parameter aj K. More recent shell model calculations give values ranging from 0·7 to 1·2 Jl~ (Cohen and Kurath 1965;Varma and Goldhammer 1969;Hauge and Maripuu 1973). Brut and Jang (1976) obtain o· 84 Jl~ from Hartree-Fock calculations, and Meder and Purcell (1974), by coupling a P3/2 hole to the ot and 2t states of a 12C core, obtain O· 67 Jl~.…”

“…10. Furthermore, these authors examined the nuclear-model dependence by using two different choices for the nuclear wave functions; one choice was the Hauge-Maripuu p-shell wave function [40] with the Sussex interaction [41] as the residual interaction, and the other was the Cohen-Kurath model [42] with the phenomenological residual interaction. Both cases turned out to give rather similar results, if the exchange …”
