Shape optimization of hyperelastic rod

Abstract: The paper is concerned with an optimal design problem for hyperelastic rod. The function describing the position of a point at the line of rod cross-sections centroids in its reference configuration is variable subject to optimization. The necessary optimality condition is formulated. The continuation method with gradient descent method were employed to solve this problem numerically. The numerical results are provided.
