Abstract:RESUMO: Com base em recentes teorias sobre a tradução/adaptação de obras literárias para o cinema, este artigo tem como objetivo analisar uma versão fílmica da peça Hamlet (1600-1601), de William Shakespeare, produzida no Brasil durante a década de 1970. É intenção desta pesquisa argumentar que o filme analisado -O jogo da vida e da morte (Mario Kuperman, 1971) -, mais que uma tradução intersemiótica, é uma leitura intertextual e antropofágica, uma transconstrução, da famosa tragédia shakespeariana.
