“…The most frequent victim of any type of sexual aggression was a dating partner (casual partner), whereas the least frequent was a stranger or an ex/current partner (for rape). These results are comparable to other prevalence rates of victimization for samples in Spain (Moyano & Sierra, 2015;Santos-Iglesias & Sierra, 2012;Vega-Gea, Ortega-Ruiz, & Sánchez, 2016), the United States (Breiding et al, 2015), and various Latin American countries such as Chile (Lehrer, Lehrer, Lehrer, & Oyarzún, 2007), Mexico (Cortés-Ayala et al, 2014), andBrazil (D'Abreu, Krahé, &Bazon, 2013). Our findings indicate high prevalence rates, taking into account that participants-whose ages ranged from 14 to 17-were asked about aggressions committed since the age of 14.…”

“…Previous research has revealed an association between being a sexual victim and later perpetrating sexual coercion in men (e.g., Moyano & Sierra, 2015;Russell & Oswald, 2002). Prevalence of victimization in Peru is among the highest from Latin America (61%) (Garcia-Moreno et al, 2006).…”

“…Thus, high levels of sexual inhibition are associated with a greater likelihood of developing sexual dysfunctions ( Bancroft et al, 2005a , Moyano et al, 2016 ), particularly if high sexual inhibition is paired with low levels of sexual excitation ( Bancroft & Janssen, 2000 ). In contrast, low levels of sexual inhibition increase the probability of participating in risky sexual behaviors ( Bancroft et al, 2004 , Moyano and Sierra, 2016 ), especially if sexual excitation is high ( Bancroft et al, 2003 ).…”

“…It could be argued that individuals with a sexual interest in children may find these characteristics particularly appealing and, thus, incorporate them into their sexual fantasies (with fantasies involving children being the extreme manifestation of these characteristics). This is analogous to “dominance”—a characteristic associated (but not synonymous) with rape—that is sexually fantasized about by men who have sexually aggressed (41, 42). Taken together, researchers and clinicians may be able to use the “Seducing an innocent” and “Sex with someone much younger” WSFQ items as proxies for assessing child-related sexual fantasies, or as a means to identify the potential use of such fantasies.…”
