Sexual Minorities’ Uncertainty About Their Romantic Partner’s Communication With Their Family: Applying the Theory of Motivated Information Management

Abstract: Using the theory of motivated information management (TMIM), this study tested the degree to which sexual minorities’ uncertainty discrepancy about their partner’s communication about their relationship to their family of origin predicted their information management strategies and relational quality (i.e., closeness and satisfaction).
