Sexual Dimorphisms of Protein-Coding Gene Profiles in Placentas From Women With Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Abstract: BackgroundSystemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) may cause pathogenic changes in the placentas during human pregnancy, such as decreased placental weight, intraplacental hematoma, ischemic hypoxic change, placental infarction, and decidual vasculopathy, which contribute to high maternal and fetal mortality and morbidity. Sex-specific adaptations of the fetus are associated with SLE pregnancies. The present study aimed to determine the transcriptomic profiles of female and male placentas from women with SLE.Methods… Show more

“…GSE97263 [9] had Platform GPL16791: Illumina HiSeq 2500 (Homo sapiens), mRNA extraction from isolated blood CD4+ T cells from 14 SLE with active disease, 16 SLE with less active disease and 14 controls. GSE177029 (two datasets FPKM and count) [10,11] , with Patforms (1) GPL24676:Illumina NovaSeq 6000 (Homo sapiens), examed 8 placentas from systemic lupus erythematosus and 8 from normal full-term pregnancies. GSE50722 [12] had Platform: GPL570 [HG-U133_Plus_2] Affymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array with 61 SLE patients and 20 healthy controls.…”
