Sex‐based differences in patients undergoing transseptal transcatheter mitral valve replacement: Closing the sex disparity gap

Abstract: Key Points In a nationwide registry of more than 2000 hospitalizations, the proportion of women undergoing transseptal transcatheter mitral valve replacement increased from 50.0% in 2015 to 60.2% in 2018. No significant differences were observed between sexes for complications, hospital length of stay, or in‐hospital mortality rate. Women had a higher 30‐day readmission rate and were more likely than men to be discharged to a skilled nursing facility.
