“…Lansoprazole has been reported as a cause of few hypersensitivity reactions. [1][2][3][4][5][6][7] We report here a case of reproducible allergy to lansoprazole with cross-reactivity to rabeprazole, but tolerance to omeprazole and pantoprazole.…”

“…The Excel random generator was used to create 130 IgE values with a normal distribution, which was then converted to a log normal distribution by raising to the power e. The geometric mean IgE level of patients with severe asthma is 112 IU/mL. 2 The geometric mean of our hypothetical cohort was 116 IU/mL. Patient weights were taken from 130 consecutive patients seen in an outpatient allergy clinic.…”

“…[1417] Severe exfoliative erythrodermic dermatitis has been reported with use of proton pump inhibitors. [18] Morar[19] identified adverse drug reactions to antituberculosis medication as the most common cause of erythroderma in HIV-seropositive South African patients. Rym et al [5] implicated carbamazepine, phenobarbital, penicillin and paracetamol.…”

“…The epidermal changes in this study were unpredictable when considering the pharmacological effects of the compound. However, for proton pump inhibitors, fetal TEN due to lansoprazole, erythrodermic reactions due to omeprazole and lansoprazole and allergic contact dermatitis due to lansoprazole have been reported in human patients [14][15][16] . Although the information obtained in the present study is limited because of its preliminary properties, if involvement of an immune-related mechanism is confirmed, the epidermal necrosis in the dog could become a useful animal model for mechanistic studies of drug-induced hypersensitivity reactions, including cutaneous drug reactions.…”
