Seven Novel Genes Related to Cell Proliferation and Migration of VHL-Mutated Pheochromocytoma

Abstract: Pheochromocytoma, as a neuroendocrine tumor with the highest genetic correlation in all types of tumors, has attracted extensive attention. Von Hipper Lindau (VHL) has the highest mutation frequency among the genes associated with pheochromocytoma. However, the effect of VHL on the proteome of pheochromocytoma remains to be explored. In this study, the VHL knockdown (VHL-KD) PC12 cell model was established by RNA interference (shRNA). We compared the proteomics of VHL-KD and VHL-WT PC12 cell lines. The results… Show more

“…The limitations of our study, including the retrospective design and the lack of consideration of genomic characteristics, should be taken into account. In recent years, a growing amount research on PCC gene mutations, such as VHL and SDH [34][35][36][37][38], has been done. Recently, the relationship between genomics and angiogenesis/metastasis has emanated in PCC studies.…”

“…(AK1, CLU, CKB, CNN1, DES, FNDC1, GNAI2, GNG10, LGALS, LYN, P3H4, PTK7, RPM3, S100A4, SYNM, SYNPO2, TAGLN, SERPIN1, SERPINB1, VWA1) and 6 that are specifically upregulated in non-hepatobiliary NENs (CKB, CLU, LGALS1, LYN, SERPINB1, TAGLN) [25,[30][31][32][33][34][35][36]. Of these, transgelin (TAGLN) and galectin-1 (LGALS1) protein expression were validated in canine NENs by immunohistochemistry (S1 and S2 Figs).…”

“…In addition, in urothelial cell carcinoma, syntenin-1 regulates the proliferation and invasion by modeling the signaling pathway of EGFR, AKT, PI3K, and c-Src, as well as the progression of EMT by the alteration in the expression of β-catenin, E-cadherin, vimentin, Claudin-1, ZO-1, and TCF4 [ 103 ]. In pheochromocytoma, syntenin-1 has been related to the complex COL3A1, COL5A2, and SERPINE1 [ 104 ]. Finally, syntenin-1 can modulate the internalization of the oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV) in complex with CD63 [ 105 ].…”
