The article presents the results of the use of quality instruments -tools and techniques -in order to reduce surface defects of steel structures on the example of a selected elementengine cover of asphalt milling machines. The article shows the potential of using selected quality tools -basic and new -in the service of quality analysis and improvement. Quantitative analyzes were presented out using the Pareto-Lorenz diagram and the c control chart, qualitative analyzes using the Ishikawa diagram and the FMEA method, quantitative & qualitative analyzes using the interrelationship diagram and matrix diagram, and it was proposed quality improvement using qualitative tools such as affinity diagram, and PDPC diagram. The most common defects of painted surfaces turned out to be improper thickness and surface contamination. As it has been shown, the experience of employees is largely responsible for the cause of these defects, which was also confirmed by other analyses carried out with the use of quality tools. The training was the most frequent method of prevention. It has also been shown that special attention should be paid to quality control, its effectiveness, and quantity. The article proves that correctly used quality tools can contribute to the improvement of the quality of manufactured products, helps in solving various quality problems. quality management quality tools steel structures improvement

Megaprojects have been associated with persistent underperformance technically, financially, socially and environmentally. This underperformance has been attributed to the inherent complexity attributes and the gaps in the form of the mismatch in the project management competences and processes used by the project management teams to deal with the complexity attributes. This study seeks to investigate the performance implications of these complexity attributes to recommend suitable management competences for the successful delivery of megaprojects. This conceptual study used an integrative literature review to analyze and synthesize findings from existing scientific articles related to the complexity constructs based on a comparative assessment of Information Technology (IT) and construction megaprojects. The Complex Adaptive Systems (CAS) Theory was also used to highlight some of the factors that influence megaproject performance towards identifying suitable management processes and competences, which are required to deal with megaprojects complexity. The key findings include a nomenclature of the main complexity attributes, their implications on the performance of IT and construction megaprojects, and, lastly, the managementcompetences and processes that are required to deal with the complexity attributes for improved megaproject performance.

Elicitation of Key Factors to Support Information Technology Outsourcing in Technological Innovation Hubs: Applying a Multicriteria Analytical Framework

This work presents an analytical framework for eliciting key factors for successful relationships between parties in information technology outsourcing (ITO) projects. The proposal was based on a multicriteria analysis to identify key factors within the literature that were essential for the success of projects involving IT outsourcing. Using the multicriteria analysis method PROMETHEE II, the most important key factors were ranked according to the judgment of the managers of the companies in the innovation ecosystem of Alagoas, Brazil. The study was based on thirty-one judgment criteria that, in this case, were formed by the interviewed managers and twenty-one alternatives that were the key factors identified in the literature. This work contributes to composing a reference for the analysis of ITO projects and information governance, informing which factors should be prioritized according to the desired objective of the manager within the project. From the local perspective, the survey pointed to “quality production” as the most important factor, followed by “contract”, “top management engagement”, “risk management”, and “communication” as the most relevant factors for IT outsourcing success in the technological innovation hubs of Alagoas.
